I play at low stakes, just for fun, ive about doubled my bankroll and cashed out that part, i enjoy playing in tourneys, so i stick to mostly hold em tourneys and occasionally some stud ring games, but i was just wondering whether other people see this as much as i feel like i do, i see people hit hands that have about a 25% chance of winning at more like a 40 or 50% rate, just me? theories?

Well, you're wrong...but it's not "just you." Over the long run, draws hit according to their expected percentages. You might be seeing people hit better than average due to variance.

i understand that there is variance, and i obviously dont see every hand, i guess what im getting at is, do you think that it is in anyway rigged to keep players playing?

you may be playing at a limit where too many people don't care if they lose. more hands are played, bottom middle pair are chased. i drop down to lower limits myself and do that. opponents scream cheating when the improbable happens. its just because more people playing longer into the hand. more craziness. online often isn't a good game until you start playing 3-6 or higher. make sure it doesnt hurt to lose though

no, good players win and bad players lose over the long run. A given hand, or a given session or a given day or a given week can produce some whacky results.

one thing that no one seems to consider is that online is way way different than live games...online you see a shitload more hands than you do live. the result of this is you see some ridiculous bullshit catches that get you all pissed off (happens a lot so get used to it), but the other side of the percentage (say 75% in your original question), does hit, but you don't take note of this, only the 25%

I think I danced around this central question before. The answer is no. There are some people, however, who feel differently...and their beliefs are 100% unshakable.

That fact is why all "Online poker is rigged" posts are a waste of oxygen.

i agree with what everyone is saying, i believe that i am a pretty good player and have made money, all you can do in poker no matter who or where you are playing is get your money in when you are ahead, if they draw out, thats tough, but in the long run you will be fine, i have heard and read a little bit about how some of the poker sites will "give" players cards and hands so they win a little money and continue to put money into the site, more money they put in, the more vigs they get, thats why i asked the question, thats all
